Lake management technician’s daily responsibilities include: mixing and applying restricted use herbicides, following the “label is the law”, identifying algae/plant species, working in the Florida’s unique environment. Boat, ATV/UTV, and backpack work required. Previous experience in the lake, preserve, and wetland management industry is preferred.

Must Have at a MINIMUM:
- Good Math Skills
- Ability to Lift 40 Lbs to Shoulder Height
- Possess a Valid Driver's License and Clean Driving Record
- Past, Verifiable Experience Working Outside in Florida's Diverse Climate Daily
- Take Ownership of Assigned Route
- Take Pride in Keeping Field Equipment Clean and In Good Working Order
- Swim and Confidently Work Around Water
- Work Near Florida's Diverse Wildlife
- Ability to Read and Understand Material Safety Data Sheets and Product Labels
- Training will be Provided on All Equipment
Preferred:
1 or more years of verifiable experience managing nuisance and exotic vegetation in lakes, ponds, and wetlands. Commercial or Public Applicators License with an Aquatic and/or Natural Areas endorsement would be a plus.
Ideal candidate will be able to:
- Calculate Prescribed Tank-Mix When Given a Known Application Rate and Area
- Document Daily Field Activities on a Computer Tablet Program
- Identify Basic Plant Species Commonly Found In Wetlands
- Demonstrate a Working Knowledge of Common Herbicides Used in Lake Management
- Operate a Pickup Truck While Towing an ATV, UTV, Small Boat or Airboat
- Demonstrate a Commitment to Provide Exceptional Customer Service
A positive attitude and ability to learn, adapt, and take initiative will overcome any lack of experience!
License/Certification:
Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services
CORE, Aquatics, Natural Areas, Right of Way, Forestry, Public Health Mosquito Control
