Mitigation Area Maintenance

Mitigation refers to the restoration, creation or enhancement of wetland to compensate for permitted wetland losses elsewhere.

Many of our clients’ mitigation areas have been created as a result of a housing development where activities include the modification of a project to avoid or minimize wetland impacts and compensation for wetland impacts that are unavoidable.

These mitigation areas must be upkept and thoroughly preserved. The Idea is to create enough well-kept wetlands to ensure the local watershed is well taken care of.

Blue Water Aquatics‘ role in this area is the maintenance of the mitigation areas to keep invasives at bay and ensure that the watershed continues to perform as designed.
